What is a podcast?
what is a poscast

A podcast is a transfer of audio content over the Internet. It allows audio files to be shared among people around the world with a minimum of manual work.

Podcasts are usually MP3 audio files that are available for downloading onto your computer and transferred to an iPod or any portable digital-media device that can play MP3 files. Note that MP3 files can also be played right on your Windows, Linux, or Macintosh computer. MP3 is rapidly becoming the standard for audio content.

How to listen

Online

To listen directly online, click on the podcast link (and choose 'open' if prompted) - the podcast will be played by your default audio software.

iPod

To save the file onto your iPod, click on the podcast (using the right side mouse button) and save it to your desktop, then drag into your iTunes program / folder.

MP3 player

To save to play with all other mp3 players (Realplayer etc), save the file to your PC, and open the file with your audio software of choice.
